Three of the city's finest chamber musicians unite for an evening of trios spanning nearly two centuries of the genre. YaoGuang Zhai, Principal Clarinet of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, joins BSO cellist Bo Li and Emmanuel favorite Hui-Chuan Chen at the piano for a program that pairs the familiar with the unexpected.

Robert Muczynski's Fantasy Trio brings a distinctly American voice to the combination — angular, propulsive, and shot through with jazz-inflected energy. Beethoven's beloved Trio in B-flat Major, composed when he was still in his confident early prime, showcases the same unlikely instrumental trio with irresistible wit and warmth.
