The English Golden Age: 400 years after William Byrd

  • Emmanuel Episcopal Church 811 Cathedral Street Baltimore, MD, 21201 United States (map)

Commemorating 400 years since the death of William Byrd (c. 1540–1623), this concert celebrates the music of the English Renaissance and its greatest composers: Thomas Tallis, Orlando Gibbons, Robert Parsons, William Byrd, and more. Join The Emmanuel Choir for a program of virtuosic choral polyphony that transcends time — sounding as fresh today as it did in the courts and chapels of Elizabethan England!

We suggest a donation of $25 per ticket for concerts featuring The Emmanuel Choir, but welcome a donation of any amount — smaller or greater — depending on one's ability to contribute. A ticket is required of all attendees, and may be obtained prior to the concert or at the door beginning 30 minutes prior to the performance.

We thank Emmanuel's Friends of Music for their ongoing and significant support of programming at Emmanuel. If you are intersted in becoming a Friend of Music, please click here.
