Emmanuel has long been renowned for the special emphasis it places on the connection between creative expression and worship. Our music program is revered as one of the best in the city of Baltimore, and we continue to look for ways to share the love of music with people of all ages.
The mainstay of our repertoire is grounded in the Anglican cathedral choir tradition, and yet there is great variety and creativity that takes places in the musical expression of our weekly Sunday liturgy.
Emmanuel is equipped with a three manual (37 stops, 39 ranks) Létourneau pipe organ, which can be heard almost every Sunday, and our services often include more than just organ music. We celebrate our musical diversity in our worship, in our concerts, and in our life together.
The accomplished Emmanuel Choir is a professional mixed-voice ensemble, and performs pieces ranging from medieval chant to contemporary jazz to global music. The choir sings every Sunday during the 10:30 service between Labor Day and Trinity Sunday, and their voices are prominently featured in the many special services that occur throughout the year. Their collective talent, training, and experience elevate the experience of Emmanuel's weekly worship.
